HANOI CITY GUIDE   Hanoi Business Mall

Vietnam¡¯s small and elegant capital lies at the heart of the Red River Delta where the nation was born around 4000 years ago, and is a city of lakes, leafy boulevards and open parks with a French colonial feel. Hanoi was founded in 1010, and became the centre of government for the Indochina Union under French rule in 1888. In 1954 it became the official capital of independent Vietnam. Until recently, political isolation together with lack of resources preserved what was essentially the city of the 1950s.
Hanoi comprises 3 millions of population nowdays in 9 urban districts and 5 rural districts covering a surface area of 920 square meters. Ba Dinh district is the national political - administration center, Dong Da - Gia Lam - Dong Anh district are the industrial areas.

Today ancient crumbling buildings dating from the 11th century lie scattered among grand French colonial residences, while shrines and monuments to Vietnam's first president, Ho Chi Minh, sit in the shadow of modern high-rise buildings. The streets of the Old Quarter still trade in the same speciality goods they dealt in 500 years ago, and temples, pagodas and monuments reflect the historic character of Vietnam. Many traditional handicrafts are also practiced in Hanoi including bronze molding, silver carving, lacquer, and embroidery.

However, since the advent of tourism in 1993, the city has seen an explosion in traveller cafes, mini-hotels and cybercafes. Although these changes are undergoing, it is still a surprisingly modest and charming place, quite unlike brash, young Ho Chi Minh City.in the south.
Hanoi is fast becoming one of the most enticing and interesting cities in Asia. As a cultural centre there are traditional water puppet shows, and music and dance performances. It is also a good base for excursions to the beautiful Halong Bay, or into the Hoang Lien Mountains inhabited by several hill tribes.

Hosting 18,000 private enterpreses, many state-owned companies, the majority of intellectural human resources, the role of the capital city in Vietnam¡¯s economy is also prominent. The annual GDP growth has been more than 10% for several years, and the living standard of the people increased 3 times during last decade. Hanoi citizens¡¯ standards of culture and working skills are rather high. They will be able the modern technology and management in very short time. The labor cost in Hanoi is reasonable.
Considering that the Hanoi market also influences to other northern provinces of the country, south of China, Laos,
 the potential is high.
